Résumé des livres

E3.1 The black Pearl

Jack looked at his watch. It would be four hours before the train arrived in Seoul.

“I know”, jack said; he smiled. “Let’s tell ghost stories. Who’ll begin?”

“I’ll begin”, the woman said. “I’ll tell you the story”. She stared at Jack. Her dark eyes were strange and not very friendly; jack looked away.

“Do you believe in ghosts”? She asked suddenly.

“Ghosts?” Jack laughed. No, no, of course not”.

She looked at each of the young people. Jack’s hands and feet were suddenly cold. His friends were uncomfortable too. They looked down at the floor.

“Listen,” she whispered. “Can you hear the sound of the sea?”

E3.2 The cleverest person in the world

Mahmoud came from a poor family in a small village. His parents and sisters did not understand him. Mahmoud was a genius.

But he did not want money or friends. He wanted to be the cleverest person in the world. And no one was going to stop him.

E3.3 A new year’s surprise

We went on between two very tall islands.

Etienne was asking questions and he was taking photos. But Lisa was not listening at all; she was thinking about something else!

Suddenly Lisa stood up and pointed at something. “There is the film crew!” She shouted excitedly. “And isn’t that James Rogers?”

She waved and jumped up and down; the boat rocked from side to side. Some sea water came over the side of the boat.

“Be careful!” cried my father. But it was too late. Lisa had fallen into the sea.

E3.4 Riders of the purple sage

Tull rode his horse forward. He stopped a few feet from the dark stranger. Then he bent down towards him and looked closely at his face.

“There are seven of us here,” Tull said. “Who are you?”

The stranger moved fast. Suddenly black guns were in his hands. And they were pointing at Tull.

“Lassiter!” Venters cried.

Tull and his men knew that name. Everyone in Utah knew the name of Lassiter. White with fear, Tull and his men waited to die.

E3.5 Treasure island

“Sometimes I wake up at night. I can hear the sea around Treasure Island. I can hear the voice of long John Silver’s parrot calling – “pieces of eight! Pieces of eight”.

Jim Hawkins tells the story of the journey on the ship, the Hispaniola, to Treasure island. And he tells of the battle with the pirates to get Captain Flint’s gold.

E3.6 The phantom airman

Two girls and two boys were standing in the middle of lychford Green Airfield. The airfield wasn’t used any more and its buildings were in ruins. Grass grew on the broken runways. It was raining and the kids were cold and wet.

“This is a sad place!” Jack said. “Something terrible happened once”.

The rain was falling heavily now and a strong wind was blowing. Suddenly, there was a flash of lightning. Thunder followed it at once. The four friends were in the middle of a terrible storm!

Regan looked up and she screamed. A black shape was falling out of the darks clouds.

“It’s World War Two Spitfire!” Tom shouted. “And it’s going to crash!”
